Keith’s Race: The Sgt. Keith A. Ferguson Memorial Race

Sunday a walk-run race across the Brooklyn Bridge took place in honor of Sgt Keith Ferguson. Sgt Ferguson was assisting another officer in 2004 when he collapsed and died of a heart attack on Grand and Broadway in the 1st Precinct. The race, called Keith’s Race is organized by his family, and all proceeds go to scholarship fund.

The PBMS( formerly the 1st Pct) Scooter Task Force was on hand for the event.

NYPD Motorcycle Squad Celebrates 100th Birthday With New Exhibit

Please note: The exhibit ended in November 2012

From The NYPD’s once-glamorous motorcycle squad is getting a close-up just in time for its 100th birthday.

A new exhibit at the New York City Police Museum, called “The NYPD Motorcycle Squad: A Century of Service to New York City,” traces the squad’s origins, including its prestigious heyday as one of the city’s toughest units in the 1950s and ’60s.
